The Storybarn bring Michael Rosen’s interactive experience Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things to the heart of Liverpool.

Yesterday The Reader’s interactive children’s centre The Storybarn announced the exciting news that they will be bringing Michael Rosen‘s Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things to the heart of Liverpool ONE in the new year.

Discover Children’s Story Centre‘s  Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things follows Once There Was… The Wonderful World of Oliver Jeffers which thrilled families at our Calderstones HQ earlier this year. In partnership with Liverpool ONE, Radio City and WaterstonesThe Storybarn will open the doors to Rosen’s interactive, fully-immersive experience on Saturday 28 January.

Incorporating imagery and ideas from some of Michael Rosen’s most beloved books, Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things will draw families into the writer’s creative world to discover hidden rooms and secret clues that reveal the inspiration behind the stories and poems.

Each session will be led by an expert Story Hunter who will invite visitors to swishy swashy through the Bear Hunt, explore the depths of a giant chocolate cake and discover whats lurking in Uncle Gobb’s Dread Shed.

Michael Rosen‘s Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things quite literally draws children into the literature, bringing stories and poems to life before their eyes and fostering a love for reading and a creative approach to storytelling.

This exhibition is one of the most exciting things to have happened in my writing career.

Just as exciting for me, as someone who works with children and students, is the idea that this exhibition will act as a springboard for children, teachers and parents to talk together about things that they remember or think up, and this, I hope, will turn into writing and performing new poems and stories. I am so looking forward to it.
